| | It's a long drive from Staunton-Waynesboro to Dividing Ridge Trail but it is a fun place to hike for the whole family. And if you're still looking for more outdoors fun stuff just keep reading. For the duration of the warm months here at Dividing Ridge Trail, high temperatures commonly reach the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Park Recreational is a nice place for that, and needless to say Mitchell Branch flows through this area. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Little River - North R. Tributary, and you'll meet a lot of people from Staunton-Waynesboro here.
| Stay the night at North River Campground, and a quick trip to Rattlesnake Run is certainly a good idea. Calfpasture River is a wonderful whitewater spot right next door to Dividing Ridge Trail; naturally, A spree to Horse Trough Hollow is always fun. Virginia is a great outdoors state. From a rainfall point of view Dividing Ridge Trail is a relatively typical site; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February.
