  Virginia has so much to offer nature lovers. First Peak Trail is not very near Boone at all but hiking it is always fun.
This river has it all. New River - South Fork is a good whitewater spot near First Peak Trail, and a quick trip to Big Wilson Creek is definitely a delightful idea. In the Blue Ridge Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails where you can absorb the beauty of these mountains. Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, First Peak Trail in Grayson County, Virginia is just what you need.
All through the warm months
    here at First Peak Trail, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at First Peak Trail descend into the 20's.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains. It's a splendid idea to visit Wilburn Branch, it's close to First Peak Trail. There's so much to do here at First Peak Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Hurricane Campground is a magnificent place for that. You can run the rapids of Big Wilson Creek in the neighborhood of First Peak Trail, and First Peak Trail is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Grayson Highlands State Park is a brilliant local campground.

month of the year is usually July, that's the one that rains the most while November is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
