  A visit to Virginia is not complete without some hiking. In the Blue Ridge Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails where beautiful scenery awaits you. From a rainfall point of view Gravel Springs Trail is a reasonably normal place; the month with most of the rain is July, and February on the other hand is the driest. We all need to get out in nature once in a while and Gravel Springs Trail in Rappahannock County, Virginia is a really good place to spend some time.
This is such a fun river. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Gooney Run, and if
    you come at the right time of year, Thornton River offers some magnificent whitewater.
