Hannah Run Trail   Thom, thank you for you efforts. We in our Troop had a very good hike, well maintained and very clean. Says Kevin Cordray As of 2008 I have been the Potomac Appalacian Trail Club overseer for Hannah Run Trail. The trail is about 4 miles in length. You can access from Skyline Drive; but I hike up from the Old Rag Mountain parking lot near Nethers, VA. It is a two mile hike from the parking lot, on Nicholson Hollow trail, before you actually hit Hannah     Run trail. I maintain the first two miles of Hannah Run trail from Nicholson Hollow trail. The trail starts off with an easy slope, running parrallel with Hannah Run for about 1.5 miles. The next .5 miles is rather steep, but the trail is sound. My two mile segment of the trail ends with the trail crosses Hannah Run. I have heard that the remaining 2 miles of trail up to Skyline Drive is very steep. There are a number of old chimneys along the trail as you head up the mountain.
