| | It's a long drive from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria to High Meadows Trail but hiking it is always fun. Finally, hiking time is here again, and High Meadows Trail in Prince William County, Virginia is a really good place to spend some time. Through the summertime months here at High Meadows Trail, high temperatures typically reach the 80's, and the nighttime is slightly chillier of course, generally in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's; throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at High Meadows Trail temperatures |
descend to the 20's. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Quantico Creek.
If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. Mary Bird Branch is a brilliant local stream, and Prince William Forest Park is a splendid spot nearby. Why not camp at Oak Ridge Campground
| since you're here at High Meadows Trail; there's always Camp Five Dam to go to near High Meadows Trail. A good site to camp here at High Meadows Trail is Turkey Run Ridge Campground; if you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Quantico Creek - South Branch.
