James River Trail is a long drive away from Virginia Beach-Norfolk-Newport News but hiking it is great fun any time. James River Trail sees pretty high levels of precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here while April is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Chippokes Plantation State Park is a good campground here, and why not take a little spree to Castle Mill Run if you're here. This river is so good. Some nearby water includes Lower Chippokes Creek,     and if you're here, do take a visit to Bayse Point. All through the days of summer at James River Trail highs are ordinarily in the 80's.
