Gap is a good place to spend some time at; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Laurel Run. This is such a fun river. There's so much to do here at Jump Rock Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Long's Campground is a great location

There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Maury River. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Jump Rock Trail has to offer, you can camp at Cold Sulphur Camp Ground. In the Blue Ridge Mountains there are many great hiking trails, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. Summer at Jump Rock Trail comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Jump Rock Trail.
