| | McDonald Trail is very far from the nearest big city and it is a really good trail. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Back Creek - Jackson Tributary; why not take a little journey to Hoover Run while you're here. During the summer months here at McDonald Trail, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at McDonald Trail descend into the 10's.

already, but it carries on; McDonald Trail has it all. There's whitewater on Jackson River for all you adrenaline kick people. Near McDonald Trail you find Dunns Gap which is a great location to visit, and Hidden Valley Campground is a tremendous local campground. McDonald Trail
| regularly gets a large amount of rainfall; most of the rain falls during July; February meanwhile is the driest month.
At Lake Bacova Dam close to McDonald Trail there are some out of the ordinary things to see, and Cowardin Run is near McDonald Trail and is always a delight to go to. Hitting the trails is always a fun thing to do and McDonald Trail in Bath County, Virginia is a really good place to spend some time. It's always glorious to pop by Grose Spring; McDonald Trail is a good spot to visit for more than one day, Virginia Power is a good spot to camp nearby.
