  We all need to get out in nature once in a while and McFalls Ridge Trail in Botetourt County, Virginia is a really good place to spend some time. There are many hiking trails in the Blue Ridge Mountains where you can absorb the beauty of these mountains. The amount of precipitation that falls at McFalls Ridge Trail is close to the national average; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is January. Visit Little Cove Creek while you're here at McFalls Ridge Trail, and McFalls Ridge Trail is delightful
    enough to spend more than a day at, Colon Hollow Shelter Campground is a delightful local campground.
Take a side visit to McCoglin Branch; if you come at the right time of year, North Creek offers some glorious whitewater. Glide down the rapids of Jennings Creek in a kayak.
There's so much to do here at McFalls Ridge Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Wonderful Life Campground is a magnificent spot for that.
As long as you like the outdoors you will like Virginia. For the period of the warmest time of the year here at McFalls Ridge Trail, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the winter at McFalls Ridge Trail temperatures descend to the 20's. McFalls Ridge Trail is a long drive away from Roanoke but trails like these are great. And if that's not enough there's lots more amusing things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
