| | Gotta get out of the city man, and if you happen to be in Highland County of Virginia, McGuffin Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Virginia is a good place for outdoors people. Much rain falls at McGuffin Trail; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain; February is the month with the least moisture. Whitewater paddling is great on Back Creek - Jackson Tributary, and some of the water close by flows, like Paddy Lick.
If you feel like a little side trip, try Lower Gap, and if you came to camp Bird Run Campground |

is a splendid spot to do that. All through the summertime months at McGuffin Trail highs are typically in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and night lows at McGuffin Trail through the wintertime

If you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Jackson River, and camping at Virginia Power is always a perfect experience. | |
