  This part of Virginia has a great deal of available outdoors activities. It's a long drive from Charlottesville to Mill Prong Trail but when you spend some time hiking here you will feel like a whole new person. At this river you will always have a good time. A good location right next door to Mill Prong Trail is Milam Gap, and locations like The Laurels are pleasant to check out. From a rain point of view Mill Prong Trail is a rather typical place; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while January is the month with the least
    amount of precipitation.
This river has so much to offer. Man, is there plenty of entertaining things to do near Mill Prong Trail. If you come at the right time of year, Rose River offers some magnificent whitewater; needless to say Mill Prong flows through this vicinity. Hiking
trails are all over the Blue Ridge Mountains where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains.
Don't leave Mill Prong Trail without first paying a visit to Dark Hollow Falls. There's so much to do here at Mill Prong Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Heavenly Acres Campground is a glorious spot for that. Summertime highs at Mill Prong Trail regularly tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Mill
