Mountain Side Trail sees pretty high levels of precipitation; July is the wettest month with most rain while December is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Don't forget to take a nice little visit to Dry Run, and Douthat Dam is a spot that is in the neighborhood of Mountain Side Trail. A great site to go to in close proximity to Mountain Side Trail is Beards Gap. |
You'll need more than a day to explore everything Mountain Side Trail has to offer, you can camp at The Buckhorne Family Campground. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up.

Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Mountain Side Trail. It's a brilliant idea to have a look at Stony Run, it's near Mountain Side Trail, and there are some great whitewater spots on Cowpasture River.
