| | Because Ridge Trail is very far from civilization it sure is a nice trail. Gotta get out of the city man, and Ridge Trail in Madison County, Virginia is a good choice. Yeah, come here to Ridge Trail for a nice time. For the duration of the months of summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at Ridge Trail. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are ordinarily in the 40's; overnight lows in the 20's for Ridge Trail.
Virginia is a good place for outdoors people. Coming to this river is always a good idea. There are |
some good whitewater spots on Rose River; swing by Hannah Run it's a great place to stop at. Camping at Ridge Trail is nice fun, Shenandoah Hills Campground is a nice local campground, and some of the water close by flows, like Brokenback Run.
From a rain point of view Ridge
| Trail is a pretty typical place; July is the wettest month with most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend White Oak Run, and Country waye RV Resort is a nice campground here. While staying at Ridge Trail you could always look at Nicholson Hollow, and stopping by Shenandoah National Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet.
