Why not visit nearby Brokenback Run if you're here at Ridge Trail, and while you're here, you could take a look at Hannah Run. Throughout the warm days of summer, highs usually are in the 80's at Ridge Trail with night lows in the 60's. Through the wintertime |
this place gets highs in the 40's, and night lows at Ridge Trail during the winter usually sink into the 20's. A typical amount of rain falls here at Ridge Trail; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
| We all need to get out in nature once in a while and if you happen to be in Madison County of Virginia, Ridge Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. There are some splendid whitewater spots on White Oak Run; you can stay the night at Camp OutBack. If you come at the right time of year, Rose River offers some nice whitewater, and Nicholson Hollow is a splendid location to spend some time.
