| | This part of Virginia is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. Ripple Trail gets a common amount of yearly rain; during July this area sees the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. Ripple Trail is a long drive away from Blacksburg-Christiansburg-Radford but it sure is a nice trail.
There's whitewater on Walker Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Ripple Trail has to offer, you can camp at Walnut Flats Campground. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for |
you then we recommend Little Walker Creek. There's so much to do here at Ripple Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Claytor Lake State Park is a delightful place for that; since you're here why not stop by Big Horse Gap.
