In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Wilson Creek, and Buckhorn Store And Campground is a nice campground here. Ross Camp Hollow is a great location to have a look at close by, and let's not forget Dry Run which is a stream that you may come across during |
your stay. Whitewater paddling is good on Cowpasture River, and Ross Camp Trail is a nice site to camp, The Buckhorne Family Campground is a nice site.
The scenery at Douthat Dam right next door to Ross Camp Trail is striking, and Left Prong Wilson Creek is one of the streams
| close by that might be worth a visit. A good deal of rain falls at Ross Camp Trail; July is the wettest month with most rain, and December is the month with the least moisture. For the duration of the summer months highs here at Ross Camp Trail reach the 80's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Ross Camp Trail.
