  Finally, hiking time is here again, and Shenandoah Mountain Trail in Highland County, Virginia is a good choice. With so many outdoors activities available in Virginia you'll never get bored. Some close by water includes Stony Lick, and Shenandoah Mountain Trail is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Bear Mountain Farm and Wilderness Retreat is a magnificent local campground. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend
    Cowpasture River. Shenandoah Mountain Trail is in the neighborhood of Locust Hollow which is unquestionably worth stopping at. Locust Fork is in the neighborhood of Shenandoah Mountain Trail and is always a pleasure to pop by. You're
sure to encounter some good folks from Deerfield here; if you come at the right time of year, Calfpasture River offers some pleasant whitewater. There's so much to do here at Shenandoah Mountain Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Cold Sulphur Camp Ground is a great location for that. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Phillips Spring. An average amount of rain falls at Shenandoah Mountain Trail. Through July this area sees the most rain;  
January is when it's the driest. Summertime highs at Shenandoah Mountain Trail generally tend to be in the 70's with night lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while Shenandoah Mountain Trail nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's.
