Shillings Trail

Shillings Trail is located quite a long drive from Staunton-Waynesboro but it is one of many great trails in this area. This part of Virginia has a great deal of available outdoors activities. Chapin Draft is a good site to check out nearby, and getting to Elliott Springs Run from Shillings Trail is trouble-free. The wonderful people of Swoope like to hang out close by, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Fall Branch. Camping is available at
Walnut Hills Campground; a great place for whitewater paddling is Calfpasture River. Camping at North River Campground is always a tremendous experience, and get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Middle River. You imagine
that's enough? Just getting warmed up. The amount of rain that falls at Shillings Trail is close to the national average. July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is February. For the period of the warm days of summer highs here at Shillings Trail get into the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's.
