  In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clinch River. Pretty far from Bristol you find The Lonesome Pine Trail but it is a great escape from the city.
Big Cedar Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot close by; Steel Hollow is also a perfect place to discover. Summer brings highs in the 80's to The Lonesome Pine Trail. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at The Lonesome Pine
    Trail drop into the 20's. All the water falling down from the sky makes The Lonesome Pine Trail a wet place; the month with most of the rain is July; the driest of the months is October.
Don't leave The Lonesome Pine Trail without first paying a visit to Seven Spring; The Lonesome
Pine Trail is a magnificent place to visit for more than one day, McPherson Show Arena is a magnificent place to camp nearby. This is a popular location for folks from Bristol, and Riverside Campground is a glorious local campground.
