The Peak Trail

  This part of Virginia has a great deal of available outdoors activities. Gotta get out of the city man, and The Peak Trail in Rappahannock County, Virginia is a great place to go. A trip to Shenandoah River Andy Guest State Park when you're here at The Peak Trail is a good idea, and close by you find good places like Thoroughfare Gap. The Peak Trail is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Shenandoah River State Park is a tremendous local campground.
    Visiting Shenandoah National Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and glide down the rapids of Happy Creek in a kayak. This is a popular place for people from Washington, and get wet paddling on Rush River. A
tremendous site like Hogwallow Flat here at The Peak Trail is too perfect to miss. There's so much to do here at The Peak Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Gooney Creek Campgrounds is a pleasant spot for that. The warmest time of the year at The Peak Trail comes with high temperatures in the 80's; the overnight is fairly colder of course, regularly in the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's with temperatures at The Peak Trail dipping  
down into the 20's all through winter nights. The Peak Trail gets a typical amount of yearly rainfall. July is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is February.
