  Virginia has so much to offer nature lovers. It's a long drive from Roanoke to Trout Creek Appalachian Trail but hiking it is great fun any time. Why not go to close by Trout Creek while you're here at Trout Creek Appalachian Trail; you can run the rapids of Johns Creek. Trout Creek Appalachian Trail is a good location to camp, Steel Bridge Campground is a good location, and Trout Creek Appalachian Trail is not far at all from Roanoke.
Dixie Caverns is a wonderful campground here, and since you're here, you might as well pop by Millers Cove. All
    through the long summer days at Trout Creek Appalachian Trail highs are usually in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's with temperatures at Trout Creek Appalachian Trail dipping down
into the 10's through winter nights. Trout Creek Appalachian Trail gets a normal amount of yearly precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here; the driest month is February.
And if that's not enough there's plenty more amusing stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Pickles Branch is a picturesque stream that is worth checking out, and there's whitewater on Craig Creek for all you adrenaline junkies. So much entertaining stuff to do at Trout Creek Appalachian Trail, so little time.
