| | You'll have to go far from Charlottesville to get to Turk Mountain Trail but it sure is a nice trail. A river like this is too good to miss. Camping at Turk Mountain Trail is good fun, Waynesboro North 340 Campground is a good local campground, and Turk Mountain Trail is a place with many visitors from Charlottesville. If you are in Virginia during hiking season you have to go hiking.
Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Turk Mountain Trail in Augusta County, Virginia is such a great place. Why not camp |
at Misty Mountain Camp Resort since you're here at Turk Mountain Trail. A nice place to check out in the vicinity of Turk Mountain Trail is Turk Gap, and whitewater paddling is wonderful on Moormans River.
And if that's not sufficient there's plenty more exciting stuff to do
| in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Turk Branch flows through this vicinity; in case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on South River. For the period of the warm days of summer at Turk Mountain Trail highs are usually in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Turk Mountain Trail. A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Turk Mountain Trail; most of the rain falls during August, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
