  Camping at Glen Lake Trail is great fun, Half Moon State Park Campground is a great local campground, and Poultney River is a delightful whitewater spot nearby. During your tour to Glen Lake Trail you'll meet some folks from Rutland for sure, also Said Dam is worth taking a look at since you're here.
You'll have to go far from Rutland to get to Glen Lake Trail but when you spend some time hiking here you will feel like a whole new person. Summertime at Glen Lake Trail comes with high temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. The winter
    comes with highs in the 20's while Glen Lake Trail overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 0's. Glen Lake Trail gets a common amount of yearly rainfall; most of the rain falls through August; the driest of the months is February.
This river is so great.
Why not camp at Bomoseen State Park Campground if you're here at Glen Lake Trail, and a journey to close by O'Brien Point is very relaxing.
