Staples Trail is located quite a long drive from Rutland but when you spend some time hiking here you will feel like a whole new person. Through the summer at Staples Trail highs are frequently in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. Highs during the winter are commonly in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Staples Trail.

Three Shanties Brook is a gorgeous stream that is worth visiting; there's whitewater on Big Branch for all you adrenaline rush seekers. And that's not all there is to do here in the Green Mountains. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Staples Trail has to offer, you can camp at Campground A, and Swale Meadow is a charming site any time of year. In the Green Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains.
