You'll have to go far from Blacksburg-Christiansburg-Radford to get to Allegheny Trail but when you spend some time hiking here you will feel like a whole new person. Stony Creek - New Tributary has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot close by; Dismal Branch is one of the streams nearby that might be worth a visit.

During the long summer days at Allegheny Trail highs are usually in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's with temperatures at Allegheny Trail dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. | |
