| | Pretty far from Blacksburg-Christiansburg-Radford you find Alleheny Trail but hiking is such a fun thing to do and this is a great place to do that. We all need to get out in nature once in a while and Alleheny Trail in Monroe County, West Virginia is the outdoors at it's best. Alleheny Trail gets a normal amount of yearly rainfall; the wettest month of the year is commonly July, that's the one that rains the most, and January is when it's the driest. Visit Dismal Branch while you're here at Alleheny Trail, and camping is available at Greenbrier River |

Campground. Camping at New River Junction Campground is always a glorious experience. All through the months of summer at Alleheny Trail temperatures are usually in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the
| 30's, and overnight lows at Alleheny Trail throughout the winter generally fall into the 20's. Coming to this river is always a good idea. Whitewater paddling is great on Little Stony Creek, and you're sure to come across some good folks from Blacksburg-Christiansburg-Radford here. Paddling on Stony Creek - New Tributary is so much fun, and why not a little side trip to Pine Swamp Branch. | |
