  Because Laurel Run Trail is very far from civilization hiking along this trail is very enjoyable. High temperatures at Laurel Run Trail throughout the months of summer are in the 70's with night lows in the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Laurel Run Trail tend to be in the 10's. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Mill Creek - Tygart Valley River Tributary, and camping at Laurel Run Trail is pleasant fun, Tygart Valley Campground is a pleasant local campground.
Big Bend
    - Monongahela National Forest is a great campground here, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Laurel Run. If you come at the right time of year, Tygart Valley River offers some fine whitewater, and some of the water nearby flows, like McGee Run.
Laurel Run Trail gets a lot of water; July is when you get the most rain here while February is frequently the driest month.
