There's some flowing water close by, Nail Run is a stream you can check out while you're here, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Cheat River - Shavers Fork. Long Trail is a wet place that gets a lot of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is July; February on the other hand is the driest.

nearest city you have Long Trail and it is a really good trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Long Trail has to offer, you can camp at Revelle Campgrounds, and let's not forget Rock Camp Run which is a stream that you may stumble upon while you're here. There's
| so much to do here at Long Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Alpine Shores Campground is a great location for that; there are some good whitewater spots on Cheat River - Shavers Fork.
For the duration of the summertime months at Long Trail temperatures are typically in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. All through the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Long Trail temperatures descend to the 10's. | |
