| | This part of West Virginia is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. At Long Trail throughout the summertime highs are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Long Trail dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights.
Getting to Nail Run from Long Trail is simple, and there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Cheat River - Shavers Fork. Much rain falls at Long Trail; the wettest month of the year is frequently July, that's the one that rains the |
most while February is ordinarily the driest month.
Take a little tour to Rock Camp Run while you're here at Long Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Long Trail has to offer, you can camp at Alpine Shores Campground. Stay the night at Revelle Campgrounds; there's whitewater on Cheat River - Shavers Fork for all you adrenaline junkies.
