| | Loop Trail is a very long way away from civilization and it is a great escape from the city. With so many outdoors activities available in West Virginia you'll never get bored. Lots of rain falls at Loop Trail; most of the rain falls all through July, and the driest of the months is October.

Get yourself into a kayak and hit Potomac River - North Fork of South Branch, and you can stay the night at Smoke Hole Campground. Some nearby water includes Long Run. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Loop Trail has to offer, you can camp at Red Creek Campground.
