| | Pocahontas Trail is quite far from the nearest urban center and when you hike it you're always having a good time. Don't forget to take a wonderful little journey to Darnell Run, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Elk River. Through the long summer days highs here at Pocahontas Trail get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's; nighttime lows in the 10's for Pocahontas Trail.
Pocahontas Trail gets a large amount of water; throughout the month of July you get the most rain |
around here while January is usually the driest month. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff in the neighborhood of Pocahontas Trail. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Falls of Hills Creek.
Spruce Run is a pretty stream that is worth stopping at, and
| you can stay the night at Summit Lake Campground. Near Pocahontas Trail you hit upon Frosty Gap which is a magnificent spot to explore. There's so much to do here at Pocahontas Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Day Run Campground is a delightful place for that. Lots of fun awaits you along this river. Chestnut Flats is a brilliant place here at Pocahontas Trail, and float down the rapids of Cranberry River in a kayak.
