Whitewater paddling is great on Red Creek. At South Prong Trail through the summer months highs are in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. During the winter the highs are typically in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at South Prong Trail. Flatrock Plains is a glorious location here at South Prong Trail, and a good place |
to camp here at South Prong Trail is Smoke Hole Campground. Stonecoal Run is a delightful local stream; camping at Red Creek Campground is always a good experience. Red Creek Plains is right here at South Prong Trail; get soaked paddling on Red Creek. South Prong Trail is a reasonably wet place commonly with lots of rain; through July this area sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is February.
