  There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Absaroka Range where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, if you happen to be in Park County of Wyoming, Lamar River Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. This part of Wyoming has a great deal of available outdoors activities. You'll have to go far from Jackson to get to Lamar River Trail but there's great natural
    beauty awaiting you along it.
If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Shoshone River - North Fork. Why not take a look at close by Cold Creek if you're here at Lamar River Trail.
If you came for an overnight stay Pahaska Campground is a pleasant place to camp. Clarks Fork Yellowstone River has a fine whitewater paddling spot close by; Threemile Campground is a fine local campground. Don't forget to take a great little spree to Little Lamar River. All through the long summer days at Lamar River Trail highs are typically in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 30's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally  
in the 20's while Lamar River Trail overnight low temperatures throughout the winter are in the-10's. Not much rain falls here at Lamar River Trail. During the month of June you get the most rain around here, and February on the other hand is the driest.
