Ross Lake wasn't worth the trip. Horrible fishing and rough trail. I'd recommend other destinations over Ross Lake. Lots of the forest in the area has burned and is not very scenic.

| | Hitting the trails is always a fun thing to do and Ross Lake Trail in Fremont County, Wyoming is a really good place to spend some time. Ross Lake Trail is a very long way away from civilization and hiking along this trail is very enjoyable.
Around Ross Lake Trail you don’t get a lot of rain; most of the rain falls all through June, and the driest month is February. All through the summer months, highs typically are in the 80's at Ross Lake Trail; through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. During the winter highs are in the 30's while the |
cold winter nights at Ross Lake Trail are in the 10's. A visit to Wyoming is not complete without some hiking.
You just can't picture the amount of outdoors cool things the Wind River Range has to offer. If you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater
| paddling on Wind River - East Fork, and if you came to camp Rawhide Ranch is a nice place to do that. Hiking trails are all over the Wind River Range where wonderful nature is waiting for you. A magnificent place for whitewater paddling near Ross Lake Trail is Wind River. There's so much to do here at Ross Lake Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Circle Up Camper Court Shop is a great place for that.
