| | When was the last time you got out in nature a bit? White Horse Trail in District of Columbia County, District of Columbia is the outdoors at it's best. You'll have to go far from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria to get to White Horse Trail but it is a fun place to hike for the whole family. A short trip to Jumpin' Jack Spring is always worthwhile, and a visit to Glen Echo Park is worthwhile. At White Horse Trail through the summertime months highs are in the 80's. 40's; overnight lows through the winter for White Horse Trail tend to be in the 20's.
It's a fine idea to visit Silver Spring Branch, it's right next door to White Horse Trail; since you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Washington-Arlington-Alexandria. From

You'll need more than a day to discover everything White Horse Trail has to offer, you can camp at Harmony Place Trailer Park, and don't forget to take a glorious little visit to Pinehurst Branch.
What a spot this is for outdoors folks. Stay the night at Cherry Hill Park. On a nice day it's a great idea to spend the day at Bathing Beach, and you can run the rapids of Rock Creek.
