Spasski Trail   In 2004 I worked in Hoonah. I was interested in the Spasski trail so asked around, and studied topo maps. The trail is now in poor condition and in many areas not discernable. Logging in some areas appears to have obliterated portins of the route. Spasski Trail is located quite a long drive from Juneau but trails like     these are great. Very good water scenery is available at Shotter Creek Dam in close proximity to Spasski Trail. There's so much to do here at Spasski Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Salt Lake Bay Cabin - Tongass National Forest is a great location for that. Summer brings highs in the 60's to Spasski Trail. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's while Spasski Trail overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 20's. Spasski Trail gets a common amount of yearly precipitation.
