Alum Cove National Recreation Trail   On the trail Says Mike Hall The trail below the natural bridge is covered in dead trees due to the winter ice storm. The trailhead down to the bridge has been cleared. Memorial Day weekend 2009. Other than that, the trail offers sandstone caves, wet weather waterfall, small stream, and one of the largest natural bridges in the country. You actually walk across the bridge and follow the trail underneath for a panoramic view of the bridge.     Very easy hike! Says Mike Hall Some of my extended family and I went out over the weekend of 1/17/2009 for a birthday get-away for a nephew. We stayed in an awesome cabin. You can run the rapids of Shop Creek - West Fork close to Alum Cove National Recreation Trail, and Sandy Springs Hollow is also a glorious place to look at. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place! The Boston Mountains is excellent! Long Branch is a good whitewater spot next to Alum Cove National Recreation Trail, and Ozark National Forest is both magnificent and gorgeous.
