Bear Lake Trail   Bear Lake was surely a disappointment! I'd heard it had good fishing, but after puffing up a long, steep, and confusing trail (we lost our way more than once, delaying our arrival about an hour) we found the lake nearly dry; muddy, and infested with mosquitoes! Next time I'll save myself the bother and fish the Conejos. Says Big Dave Bear Lake Trail is located quite a long drive from Espanola but there's great natural beauty awaiting you along it.     There are many hiking trails in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains where you can truly take in all the beauty of these mountains. With so many outdoors activities available in Colorado you'll never get bored. Gotta get out of the city man, and Bear Lake Trail in Conejos County, Colorado is a great place to go. Bear Lake Trail is good enough to spend more than a day at, Mix Lake Campground is a good local campground. Why not take a look at nearby Lake Fork if you're here at Bear Lake Trail; get wet paddling on Conejos River. A good site to camp here at Bear Lake Trail is Conejos Campground, and don't forget to take a wonderful little trip to Saddle Creek. Soar down the rapids of Rio   de los Pinos in a kayak. A large amount of rain falls at Bear Lake Trail. The wettest month of the year is usually March, that's the one that snows the most while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summertime brings highs in the 60's to Bear Lake Trail; the nighttime is a tad cooler of course, commonly in the 40's.
