High Lonesome Trail   Pretty far from Silverthorne you find High Lonesome Trail but what a great place for hiking it is. This part of Colorado is always a pleasure to visit during hiking season. There are many hiking trails in the Front Range, it's a great hiking area. Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in nature a bit and if you happen to be in Grand County of Colorado, High Lonesome Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Everybody     loves Devils Thumb Park; you're sure to bump into some fine people from Winter Park here. That right there is loads of fun things already but it goes on, the Front Range has it all. A delightful place to camp here at High Lonesome Trail is Meadow Creek Campground; on a great day it's a tremendous idea to spend the day at Surprise Beach. Camping is available at Western Box Campground, and whitewater paddling is good on Whitewater Outfitter - Mad Adventures. High Lonesome Trail is a location that is rather dried up generally. August is the   wettest month with most rain; the driest month of the year is February. Summertime highs at High Lonesome Trail generally tend to be in the 70's with overnight lows in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and overnight lows at High Lonesome Trail during the wintertime regularly plunge into the 0's.
