Highline Trail   There are many wonderful hiking trails in the Sawatch Range where beautiful scenery awaits you. It's a long drive from Edwards to Highline Trail but it is a great escape from the city. With so many outdoors activities available in Colorado you'll never get bored. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while and if you happen to be in Lake County of Colorado, Highline Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching.     Highline Trail is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Elbert Creek Campground is a tremendous local campground. Places like White River National Forest are perfect to go to, and since you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Twin Lakes. There's so much to do here at Highline Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Mary Queen Campground is a good place for that. Paddling on Lake Creek is so much fun, and get dripping wet paddling on Arkansas River. Not much rainfall falls here at Highline Trail. August is the month that gets the most rain while February is commonly the driest month. Through the summer highs here at Highline Trail get into the 70's. Throughout the moonlight   hours it's mostly in the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's while Highline Trail overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 0's.
