Sunset Trail   It's a long drive from Montrose to Sunset Trail but you always have a good time when you're hiking along it. There are some delightful whitewater spots on Gunnison River - North Fork; Paonia State Park is a tremendous location to stop at on a wonderful day. There's whitewater on Anthracite Creek - Ruby Fork for all you adrenaline kick people; you're sure to come across some cheerful folks from Somerset here. Sunset Trail is magnificent enough to spend more     than a day at, Smith Fork Campground is a magnificent local campground. There's so much to do here at Sunset Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je West is a great location for that. The yearly rainfall here at Sunset Trail is about average. The month of March is the wettest with most of the snow, and June is the month with the least moisture. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Sunset Trail while night lows are ordinarily in the 40's.
