Arkaquah Trail
| | Hiked this trail with a friend on Labour Day weekend 2007 and it was one of the toughest trails that we have done. Parking at Brasstown and hiking down was pretty easy and we stopped to eat at Track Rock. Going back up to Brasstown was pretty brutal even though we are both in good shape. There are few turns or forks, which is good because the trail is NOT marked in many places. We heard reports of a copperhead and yellow jackets on the trail, but only saw red |
tailed hawks, bugs and worms. There is no water on this trail, but its very shady, at least in the summer. The views are nice and you are advised to take your time climbing using short steady steps. Over 11 miles of hiking total and
| it took a good 6 hours including rest stops, eating time, pictures, etc. Says Dave
A long drive separates Cornelia from Arkaquah Trail, but when you hike it you're always having a good time. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while and Arkaquah Trail in Union County, Georgia is a really good place to spend some time. Hiking in Georgia is such a great thing to do. Hiking trails like this one are plentyful in the | |

Blue Ridge Mountains where wonderful nature is waiting for you. Green Branch is a wonderful place to visit; a perfect place like Chattahoochee National Forest is too delightful to leave out. Be careful coming to the Blue Ridge Mountains, you might not ever wanna go back home again.
