DeSoto Falls Trail
| | I was there during the weekend before the 4th. DO not plan to stay a whole day here. Have a snack see the falls and move on to other falls. I camped here and it was okay. Had a run in with a huge Timber rattler 3/4 of a mile from entrance of Desot and realized camp was below....... Go see the Waters Creek area as well. Have a great lunch for few hours at Vogel North of DeSoto. Says Kellie Brown
Hiking trails are all over the Blue Ridge Mountains, |
there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. A long drive separates Gainesville from DeSoto Falls Trail, but what a great place for hiking it is. Georgia has so much to offer nature lovers. Hey, time for a hike don’t you think?
| DeSoto Falls Trail in Lumpkin County, Georgia is a great place to go. Don't leave DeSoto Falls Trail without visiting Vogel State Park, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Helton Creek. You clearly must love the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some of the water close by flows, like Shanty Branch, and do put some time aside to spend at Nottely Falls while you're here at DeSoto Falls Trail. Why not camp at Chestatee Knoll | |
|
Campground if you're here at DeSoto Falls Trail It's always tremendous to visit DeSoto Falls. Taking a little trip to close by Levelland Cove is a great idea, and if you came for an overnight stay Vogel State Park is a delightful place to camp.
