Says Donna Hayes Very difficult to get to and people have trashed the area, disrespecting the heritage and not honoring the history or mine and many others ancestory. Says R Powell A long drive separates Athens-Clarke County from Mounds Trail, but hiking is such a fun thing to do and this is a great place to do that. Time to get out and breathe some fresh air, and Mounds Trail in Greene County,     Georgia is such a great place. Get your pulse rate up on the magnificent whitewater of Apalachee River, and Rose Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth going to. There's whitewater on Rose Creek for all you adrenaline kick people. Oconee River Campground and Picnic Area is a delightful campground nearby; Mounds Trail is not far at all from Arnoldsville. There's some flowing water close by, Falling Creek is a stream you can pop by during your stay. Upper Elders Dam is a beautiful location in the neighborhood of Mounds Trail; you can stay the night at North Shore Resort. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Mounds Trail. Watson Mill State   Park is worth stopping at if you're at Mounds Trail. The high level of precipitation makes Mounds Trail a reasonably wet place. March is the wettest month with most rain, and October meanwhile is the driest month. For the duration of the months of summer at Mounds Trail highs are usually in the 80's while night lows are usually in the 60's.
