Rice Camp Trail

As of May 2011, Rice Camp Trail is fine. Crews have cleared the trail of the downfalls the resulted from storms earlier this year and late last year. Unless you're totally clueless, you don't need a GPS to hike this trail.

Rice Camp Trail is easy to follow except for one place near the old camp itself where the trail suddenly leaves its course next to a stream, reverses direction, and climbs a little hillside. That's about midway, so keep close watch when
you in the middle part of the hike.

Rice camp trail has been cleared.
Says Sara

The Trail is better now. We were there about 2 weeks ago and we hiked the entire trail with no problems.

If you attempt Rice Camp Trail Make sure to have compass/GPS and map.  There was a terrible storm that

blew down literally hundreds of trees.  The trail is impassible, no exaggeration!!  You can get around the downed trees, but don't expect to stay on the trail.  Trees are down about a 1 1/2 miles southeast of the Jacks River Trail.
Says Meach

It's a long drive from Cleveland to Rice Camp Trail but there's great natural beauty awaiting you along it.
