Deer Loop   Hiking trails like this one are plentyful in the Cumberland Plateau Mountains where wonderful nature is waiting for you. Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Deer Loop in McCreary County, Kentucky is such a great place. Kentucky is a good place for outdoors people. Deer Loop is a long drive away from Somerset but it is a good trail. A journey to Deer Loop wouldn’t be complete without a trip to nearby Pickett State     Park, and do have a look at Turkey Branch if you're here at Deer Loop. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing things the Cumberland Plateau Mountains has to offer. There are some fine whitewater spots on Cumberland River - Little South Fork, and while you're here you will meet lots of folks from nearby Stearns. Buffalo Branch is a charming stream that is worth a visit, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Rock Creek. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Deer Loop has to offer, you can camp at Great Meadow Campground. A spree to Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area is recommended. There's so much to   do here at Deer Loop that you need to camp here for a while, Charit Creek Campground is a fine location for that. But wait, there's more to do near Deer Loop. Deer Loop is a reasonably wet place frequently with a great deal of rain. The wettest month of the year is mostly March, that's the one that rains the most; October on the other hand is the driest.
