High Rock Nature Trail
| | Catoctin Mountain Park/Cunningham State Park (and therefor High Rock Nature Trail) are only about 30 minutes drive from Gettysburg. Not sure why someone would say it is ''quite a long drive'' from Gettysburg. We have not been to High Rock (just now heard about it), but we got to Catoctin/Cunningham Falls several times a year from Gettysburg. It is a short drive and the trails and views (Chimney Rock/Wolf Rock/Thurmont Overlook) are pretty awesome. Says |

This part of Maryland has a great deal of available outdoors activities. People from Sabillasville love to come to High Rock Nature Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Cunningham Falls State Park is a pleasant
| location to camp. Hunting Creek Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out; obviously Bear Branch is a beautiful stream that is worth taking a look at. At this ski area you will always have a great time. Whitewater paddling is great on Owens Creek, and why not a little side trip to Hauver Branch. In case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Hunting Creek. A short visit to Cunningham Falls is always worthwhile, | |
|
and William Houck Campground is a magnificent local campground. Any time is a magnificent time at High Rock Nature Trail if you like the outdoors. Catoctin Mountain Park is a good national park, and as expected, everybody loves Greenbrier State Park.
