Link Lake Trail   Minnesota is a great outdoors state. There are many hiking trails in the Mesabi Range, there's no better way to enjoy these mountains. Link Lake Trail is a long drive away from Duluth but you always have a good time when you're hiking along it. Time to get out and breathe some fresh air, and if you happen to be in Itasca County of Minnesota, Link Lake Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Little Fork River is a good whitewater spot     in the vicinity of Link Lake Trail; during your journey here you'll meet some folks from Side Lake for sure. All the outdoors cool stuff in the Mesabi Range will keep you coming back repeatedly. Camping is available at C C Campground 717, and a wonderful site for whitewater paddling is Sturgeon River. A splendid spot to camp here at Link Lake Trail is Stony Brook Campground; McCarthy Beach State Park is a great place. Link Lake Trail is a good site of normal rainfall. June is when you get the most rain here; the driest of the months is February. During the months of summer at Link Lake Trail temperatures are usually in the 70's; the overnight is rather colder of course, usually in the 50's.
