Pine Portage   Pine Portage is in a quite desolate area and it's one of those places where hiking is great. Minnesota has lots of outdoors activities. A nice site to camp here at Pine Portage is Gunflint Pines, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Poplar River. Do schedule some time to have a look at Granite Bay in the vicinity of Pine Portage if you have a chance, and there's some flowing water close by, Pine River is a stream you can visit during your stay. Why not     camp at Baker Lake Campground since you're here at Pine Portage, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Temperance River. A short journey to Little Rock Falls is always worthwhile, and naturally Larch Creek flows through this vicinity. Any time is a wonderful time at Pine Portage if you have a thing about the outdoors. Pine Portage is a good location of common precipitation. All through August this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summer at Pine Portage comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's.
