Skyline Trail
| | If you are in Montana during hiking season you have to go hiking. Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in nature a bit and if you happen to be in Gallatin County of Montana, Skyline Trail is a great local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Get covered with water paddling on Madison River, and Skyline Trail is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Buffalo Horn Campground is a tremendous local campground. Fork near Skyline Trail is a great idea. If you came to camp Specimen Creek Campground is a tremendous site to do that, and whitewater paddling is delightful on Gallatin River. Skyline Trail is usually a reasonably dried out location.
| Throughout the month of May you get the most rain around here; February on the other hand is the driest. At Skyline Trail through the summer highs are in the 70's, and the overnight is slightly chillier of course, commonly in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Skyline Trail temperatures descend to the 0's. | |
