You'll have to go far from Forest City to get to Bald Mountain     Trail but hiking it is great fun any time. Here at Bald Mountain Trail you'll probably meet some people from Marion, and Lake James State Park is worth stopping at. All the outdoors enjoyable things in the Blue Ridge Mountains will keep you coming back time and again. Drift down the rapids of Catawba River - North Fork in a kayak, and a quick trip to Limekiln Creek is absolutely a glorious idea. Camping is available at Lake James Landing, and while you're here, you could explore McGegers Branch. If you came for an overnight stay Armstrong Creek RV Park is a pleasant place to camp. Turkey Cove is a delightful place to stop by near Bald Mountain Trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit   Catawba River. So many cool things next to Bald Mountain Trail, absolutely incredible. Through the summertime at Bald Mountain Trail highs are mostly in the 80's while night lows are commonly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Bald Mountain Trail tend to be in the 10's.
