Hey folks - the Adam's slide trail is a now defunct trail... while it can be followed, it is quite steep and overgrown. You talk about the Six Husbands Trail like it was a walk in the park. It is one of the more difficult trails in the Presidentials. Star Lake is at 4300+ feet, requiring a strenuos climb. Weather in the Presidentials is changeable and extreme - people die in snowstorms |

| a great place. It's a long drive from Berlin to Adams Slide Trail but it is a fun place to hike for the whole family. In the White Mountains you'll find lots of hiking trails, it's a great hiking area. At Adams Slide Trail you always meet someone from Gorham, and Timberland Camping Area is a fine campground nearby. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the White Mountains. Peabody River - West Branch has a nice whitewater paddling spot close by. | |

Stay the night at Dolly Copp Big Meadow - White Mountain National Forest, and whitewater paddling is fine on Peabody River. Adams Slide Trail is close to Mt. Washington State Park which is a beautiful site; why not take a little spree to Chandler Brook if you're here.
